Following storms in Virginia USA, the Instagram service has been inaccessible for a number of hours.
As I write at 15.46 on a Saturday afternoon, this has been in effect from before I arose this morning. I love my Instagram and on a beautiful Saturday afternoon I am missing my usual photo-sharing and social sharing site.
Instagram uses Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud which has been affected by the storms.
Instagram was recently part of an acquisition made by Facebook. Facebook is not affected by the outage and the query is whether Instagram will now move to the same base as that of Facebook.
