Microsoft is holding a small event on Monday evening, where the Redmond based company is expected to reveal their own branded tablet. The event, just a few days before the Windows Phone Summit on June 20th, could see the company team up with Barnes & Noble to launch a Microsoft Windows RT tablet.
Legal documents between the two companies reveal a possible hardware alliance, which could see a Nook tablet launch running Windows 8 or a Microsoft Windows 8 tablet launch “featuring Nook”. Essentially, either device would be a direct competitor for Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet and Google’s upcoming Nexus branded tablet.
We could also see the tablet launch running the Windows Phone 8 and whilst it’s all speculation for now, Microsoft should reveal all on Monday, so check back with us then for the full story!
