Samsung vs Apple; TV advertising

Samsung’s Galaxy S3 is expected to go head to head with Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 smartphone and one of the ways that Samsung have chosen to take on Apple is through their marketing, specifically adverts airing on national television. Apple’s TV adverts are famed for creating a desire by showing the viewer how the device can complement your life and Samsung’s new Galaxy SIII advert has taken that idea right down to length.

Below we’ve put in two TV adverts for you; the first was uploaded by Apple on October 20th 2011, shortly after the announcement of the iPhone 4S and focuses on their voice assistant Siri, whilst the second was uploaded by Samsung Singapore (yet aired a few moments ago on ITV in the UK) and includes features such as Smart Stay and S-Beam. Even the length of the videos is almost the same.

So what do you think? Have Samsung succeeded in creating the same effect as Apple with their Galaxy S3 advert or do Apple still rule the television roost? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Don’t forget to join us tomorrow evening for coverage from Apple’s WWDC conference where iOS 6 is expected to be announced amongst other services. Will we see the iPhone 5 announced? Join us on the homepage to find out…!
