Three increased its customer base in 2012 with the latest figures announced by the company showing they had more than 9 million customers. The network operator also reported full year profits of £101 million, a major increase of 237% on 2011.
Three is the UK’s fourth largest network and posted its first profit in 2011. During the last 12 months, the network has added 900,000 new customers (a growth of 11%), no doubt due to its attractive All You Can Eat data offering. Post-pay customers account for 58 percent of Three’s customer base, an 18% growth on 2011. Total revenue increased 9% to £1.95 billion whilst service revenue was up 3% to £1.35 billion.
Three is set to launch its 4G services in Q4 this year and this should further increase the company’s subscriber numbers as it has promised not to charge extra for 4G services.
