Australians turn to technology for shopping

An increasing number of Australians are using technology to help them shop, with nearly 40% using a smartphone or iPad to compare prices according to new research.

The research, courtesy of a Australian National Retailers Association (ANRA) survey found that from 1,000 people, 38 per cent made use of technology whilst shopping in the last six months compared to 27 per cent in the last six months of 2011.

The survey also revealed that men (44%) were more likely to use technology than women (33%) whilst nearly a quarter (21.6 %) also used a phone app to help with shopping.
