Samsung exec confirms quad-core CPU and LTE in Galaxy SIII

A Samsung executive has reportedly confirmed that the company’s upcoming eagerly waited Galaxy S3 smartphone will feature the Korean manufacturer’s own quad-core Exynos chipset with LTE support.

Rumours of the Galaxy S3 are now coming thick and fast with everything leaked apart from the device’s actual release date! So far, we’ve heard that the device will feature a 4.8inch FullHD 1080p display alongside 1.5GHz quad-core CPU and 2MP front-facing camera. The Galaxy S3 should also feature an 8 megapixel rear snapper with1080p HD video capture, 4G LTE connectivity and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

For those wondering about the use of Qualcomm chipsets in Samsung smartphones, the two companies have an arrangement through to 2024 for the use of single-core chipsets but Samsung has distanced themselves from using Qualcomm chips in multi-core devices.
