Who does not get secret pleasure from wincing as a friend or stranger drops their phone, only to see it smash to smithereens a cracked screen?
It would appear that many of us do and there are dedicated websites attributing to the fact. I admit, that I do wince when I see someone with a smashed phone screen. I could not bear using it myself, but for some, the high cost of replacing a cracked screen – £150 for the repair of an iPhone can be insurmountable on top of the initial asking price.
Two friends recently suffered the same fate, both with iPhones on the same night. Yes, it was party night, but it does show you that some phones would recover from such a fall, who can forget Nokia’s 3310.
However, today we take a look at some newbies on the phone market, namely the HTC One X and Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Unlike the iPhone 4 S which is made of glass on the back and the front, the One X and Galaxy S III are made of different materials, namely polycarbonate.
Let us take a look at how the trio survive the drop test. Get ready to wince. Ouch!
